We often think we know our spouses inside and out, but sometimes, they surprise us. One woman recently confessed to keeping a small secret from her husband.

While out for dinner at a restaurant, her phone’s battery was running low, so she turned it off to save power. Later, as they were driving home, she suddenly realized she couldn’t find her phone. Panicked, she searched through her bag and the car but came up empty-handed. Convinced she had left it at the restaurant, she persuaded her husband to drive an hour back to retrieve it.

When they arrived, the manager helped them search. Her husband, though frustrated, joined in the effort. Then, in the midst of the chaos, she slipped her hand into her jacket pocket—and there it was. She had the phone with her the entire time.

Embarrassed by her mistake and feeling guilty for making her husband drive all the way back, she decided not to tell him. Instead, she excused herself to the restroom and returned with a fabricated explanation: “It was on the toilet tank.”

To this day, her husband remains unaware of the truth. To avoid further embarrassment, she has chosen to keep the secret to herself.
