There were some important things that happened at the Oscars. One involved Lady Gaga and Liza Minnelli. As the night was coming to an end, the two went on stage to give out the award for “Best Picture.”

As soon as Liza walked onto the stage, the crowd stood up. They cheered loudly, and it went on for a long time. The speakers had to wait their turn.

Lady Gaga had her hand on Liza’s shoulder as she told the crowd that it had been 50 years since Liza had been in “Cabaret.” Lady Gaga told Liza, “You see, the people love you!”

Minnelli was in the musical “Cabaret.” In 1972, she won an Academy Award for Best Actress. The legendary Bob Fosse was in charge of making the movie. Judy Garland, Liza’s famous mother, might have given her some of her skills.

Lady Gaga says, “I’m honored to give the night’s last award with a real show business legend!” The crowd of famous people responds with more loud applause.

Liza starts to give out the award for “Best Picture,” but she messes up a few words. Lady Gaga puts her hand on Liza’s shoulder, leans in close, and whispers, “I got you.”

Lady Gaga keeps going with the show, and Liza smiles. It was a nice thing to help Liza out when she was having trouble with the notecards. Everybody liked how kind and caring Gaga was.
