A man paints his house pink, and his angry neighbors can’t stop him.

People say that the way you set up your home says a lot about who you are. And the houses that line the street of Mountain View in Pflugerville, Texas, used to look like any other house. People who live here are used to seeing homes that are white, beige, or gray. But when Emilio Rodriguez moved in, everything changed.

Emilio was only four years old when he was in a terrible car accident. But that left him paralyzed from the waist down for good. And he has had several surgeries over the course of his adult life. He is now confined to a wheelchair, and this house will be part of the “Keep Austin Weird” vibe.

Even though he has had to deal with a lot of problems in his life, the color pink has always made him smile and feel a lot better.

Emilio also found that the color pink calms him down and makes him feel better while he was dealing with his health problems. So, when Emilio finally bought his dream home in Pflugerville two years ago, he knew he had to paint it pink. In fact, his family and girlfriend asked him over and over again not to paint the house this color. Emilio, on the other hand, is set on going with his gut.

Emilio was inspired by the bright colors in his tattoos to find the right color for the house of his dreams. So, Emilio had the house painted in a shade of pink that looked like Pepto-Bismol. It’s not just for accents, though. He used it to cover his whole house. In fact, he wanted to look like “wet slime.”

Even if his neighbors are upset, it won’t bother him. He said he chose this neighborhood because there was no homeowners’ association that could stop him from doing what he wanted with his house.

He went on to say, “No HOA. No HOA. I had this all planned out because of that reason. So when people get mad, I tell them there is no HOA here.”

Because his pink house is so unique, it has gone viral on social media, and he has seen both the good and bad things that have happened as a result. Some people probably liked it, but Emilio says he has also gotten threats and bad comments. If his neighbors don’t agree, they might file a lawsuit to try to make him change his mind.

Emilio doesn’t think this is a big deal, though. All that matters to him is that he loves this house, and he can’t figure out why other people don’t.
