Robert De Niro recently shared a precious moment with his 10-month-old daughter, Gia.
In a rare photo captured by Page Six, the legendary “Goodfellas” actor, aged 80, is seen tenderly holding Gia on his lap, affectionately resting his cheek against her head.
Robert De Niro expressed his delight at his daughter’s charming demeanor, noting her sweet smile while dressed in a cute onesie adorned with musical squirrels.
In an interview with People, De Niro affectionately described her as an adorable baby, sharing how his children and even grandchildren find joy in her presence. Reflecting on the unique family dynamic, especially with his seventh child born at the age of 79, De Niro humorously remarked on Gia becoming an aunt to her soon-to-be teenage nieces and nephews.
In addition to Gia, whom he welcomed in spring 2023 with girlfriend Tiffany Chen, De Niro is also the father of six other children: Drena, 56, Raphael, 47, twins Julian and Aaron, 28, Elliot, 25, and Helen, 12.
He has four grandchildren, including Drena’s son Leandro, who tragically passed away from an accidental overdose last year at the age of 19. Last month, the Oscar winner became emotional discussing his latest addition during an interview with AARP.
The 80-year-old actor shares his seventh child, Gia, with girlfriend Tiffany Chen. “Everything that I’m consumed with or worried about just goes away when I look at her,” he expressed fondly.
“It’s wondrous.” In a glimpse into his home life with Chen, 45, and baby Gia during an interview with the Guardian last October, he candidly discussed his age, mentioning that he has stepped back from doing “the heavy lifting.”
She gave birth to their first child together in spring 2023. “I’m there, I support my girlfriend. But she does the work,” he mentioned, emphasizing their teamwork. “And we have help, which is so important.” De Niro and Chen first crossed paths in 2021 on the set of his 2015 film “The Intern.”
Reflecting on the early days of their relationship during an interview with Gayle King on “CBS Mornings” in July 2023, Chen mentioned, “When we were working, it was just work. And then a couple of years later, we got back in touch, and I said, ‘Oh, I guess we get along, and I guess we really get along.'” The “Killers of the Flower Moon” star was previously married to Diahnne Abbott from 1976 to 1988 and Grace Hightower from 1997 to 2018.
