Sarah Jessica Parker, 59, has traded in her gray hair for the honey-blonde locks she famously flaunted as Carrie Bradshaw on Sex and the City. While filming the new season of And Just Like That, Parker is seen with a bleached blonde mane, reviving the iconic look of the character who inspired countless women to don Jimmy Choos, sip cosmos, and embrace wild, curly hair.

In her role as Carrie Bradshaw, Sarah Jessica Parker delivered many unique looks. Her hairstyle evolved over the years, but her signature blonde, layered hair remained a constant through six seasons of the hit TV series (1998 to 2004) and its follow-up films (2008 and 2010).

Parker was only 33 when she first starred as the colorful columnist. Now, at 59, she faces online trolls who criticize her natural aging.

In 2018, Parker attended the Met Gala in a golden Dolce & Gabbana gown with an ornate nativity headpiece. Despite her unique look, comments focused on her aging appearance, with some cruelly remarking on her skin.

In 2021, Parker was seen lunching with Bravo star Andy Cohen, makeup-free with her silvery hair in a ponytail. Online hate followed, but Cohen defended her, calling the comments misogynistic. Speaking on The Drew Barrymore Show, Cohen noted the double standard, pointing out how his own gray hair didn’t receive the same scrutiny.

Parker addressed this in Vogue, criticizing the unrealistic beauty standards women face. “There’s so much misogynist chatter… I’m sitting with Andy Cohen, and he has a full head of gray hair, and he’s exquisite. Why is it okay for him?” she said. “It almost feels as if people don’t want us to be perfectly okay with where we are, as if they almost enjoy us being pained by who we are today.”

Some fans commented negatively on her gray hair, but since the start of And Just Like That in 2021, Parker has returned to Carrie Bradshaw’s signature blonde locks. Recently, she was seen filming in Queens, New York, holding hands with co-star John Corbett, who plays her love interest, Aiden.

Parker revealed that she visits her colorist frequently for work continuity, but otherwise, she keeps her hair routine simple. “My hair is pretty much as it’s always been. I wash it, I put some conditioner on the ends, I pull it back into a ponytail or a bun,” she told Allure. “If I’m not working, I probably won’t see [my colorist] for six, eight months easily.”

Fans are thrilled to see her back to blonde. One fan commented, “She looks better as a blonde. The gray hair ages her.” Another shared, “Gray hair was becoming on her BUT BLONDE hair is gorgeous on her!! She smiles much more and her eyes twinkle with blonde hair!” A third added, “She looks like she could be her own daughter now!”

As for Parker, she remains unfazed by harsh critiques and focuses on what makes her happy. “When I walk out the door, I want to feel OK, according to my standards. I can’t even tell you what those standards are,” she told Allure. “But you know how you feel when you feel most like yourself, whatever that means… I guess I just don’t care enough about everybody else’s opinion.”
