Jennifer Garner, 50, has addressed the persistent belief that fathers’ bodies are often seen as more appealing than mothers’ bodies. She shared her pride in her “baby bump,” emphasizing that despite societal pressures for women to quickly regain their pre-pregnancy figures, the reality is that bodies need time to recover after childbirth.
Garner, a mother of three—Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 10—has often been asked if she was expecting another child. She discussed her feelings about body image in a 2021 podcast, explaining that while she can stay fit, her body will always show signs of having given birth to three children.
She also addressed persistent rumors about her appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2014, stating that her “baby bump” is a result of having three children and is not going away. Despite enduring negative comments, Garner advocates for a more accepting view of natural body changes.
In an interview with Today, she expressed her desire for society to normalize diverse body types, stating, “I want to look normal and for normal to be the standard. It’s absurd that we have these unrealistic standards for women. Everyone should be able to look how they want, as long as they are happy and healthy.”
