Disturbing Scans Reveal the Consequences of Eating Raw Pork: Woman’s Body Riddled with Parasites

Shocking scans have revealed the horrifying outcome for a 23-year-old woman after consuming raw meat left her body infested with parasites. Known by the pseudonym Tingting, from Yubeng Village, Deqin County, China, she first reported headaches, thigh pain, and eye discomfort in 2016.

Medical professionals recommended an MRI and CT scan, and the results were alarming. The scans showed her body was infested with parasites, diagnosed as cysticercosis—a condition caused by ingesting tapeworm eggs.

These microscopic parasites had invaded Tingting’s back muscles, abdomen, eyes, and brain. The cause was linked to her family’s tradition of eating raw pork on the days they slaughtered pigs, a practice she had followed since her teens. Her brother was tested but found to be free of the infection.

Professor Meng Qiang, chief physician of the Department of Neurology at the Provincial First Hospital, reported that Tingting suffered from bulging eyes, retinal hemorrhage, widespread infections, and epileptic seizures. He warned that parasitic worms can severely impact the brain and central nervous system, leading to epilepsy, intellectual impairment, and potentially other severe conditions like limb paralysis and sensory dysfunction.

To treat Tingting, doctors planned to administer small doses of insecticides, cautioning that the treatment itself could cause further complications, including inflammatory or severe allergic reactions.

The condition of Tingting after the parasites were discovered remains unknown, sparking concern and disgust online. Commenters expressed shock and worry, with some stopping at the mention of worms in her eyeballs, and others questioning whether she is still alive.

To prevent cysticercosis, the CDC advises proper hygiene, including washing hands after using the toilet and before handling food, peeling and washing fruits and vegetables before eating, and drinking safe or properly boiled water in areas where tap water is unsafe.
