Céline Dion’s older sister, Claudette, recently shared concerns about Céline’s ongoing health struggles, revealing that the singer “doesn’t have control over her muscles.”
Despite Céline’s strong work ethic and her deep desire to return to performing, the progressive and incurable nature of her condition, known as stiff person syndrome, presents significant obstacles.
Claudette highlighted the rarity of this syndrome, which affects only one in a million people, and noted that limited research exists due to its scarcity.
Stiff person syndrome can drastically impair mobility, sometimes turning those affected into “human statues.” Although there have been rumors suggesting that Céline is now wheelchair-bound, Claudette dispelled these claims, instead emphasizing Céline’s determination and zest for life.
Céline remains focused on her recovery and is committed to following her doctors’ care plan in Denver as she continues to work toward her comeback.
