Hailey Merkt, a former contestant on The Bachelor, has tragically passed away at the age of 31 after a brave battle with leukemia. Her family shared the heartbreaking news through her personal Instagram, honoring her courage, grace, and selflessness throughout her fight.

“It is with broken hearts we share that our beloved Hailey has passed away after a courageous fight for her life,” her family wrote. “Hailey faced every challenge with bravery, kindness, and an unwavering will to live. She spent her final moments surrounded by loved ones, living with no regrets.”

Born on November 3, 1992, in Vancouver, Canada, Hailey appeared on Season 21 of The Bachelor in 2017, competing for Nick Viall’s heart. Outside of reality TV, she was a talented photographer and had worked as a senior marketing and communications manager. Hailey held degrees in Communication and Media Studies from Carleton University and a diploma in print journalism from Conestoga College.

In April 2024, she was declared cancer-free, but her condition worsened unexpectedly just a few months later, leading to her passing on July 26, 2024. Despite her struggles, Hailey continued to share her journey on social media, inspiring many with her resilience and positivity.

Her death prompted an outpouring of love from friends, family, and fellow contestants from The Bachelor, who remembered her as a vibrant and loving person. Raven Gates shared, “Oh my gosh!!! I’m so so sad to hear this. I was so hoping for her recovery. Rest easy, Hailey, you’ll never be forgotten.”
