Britney Spears’ child support payments to her ex-husband Kevin Federline are reportedly ending as their youngest son, Jayden James, turns 18 today (September 12). Spears and Federline, who married in 2004, share two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.
After their divorce in 2006, citing “irreconcilable differences,” Federline was granted full custody of the children following Spears’ conservatorship.
Though Spears’ custodial rights increased in 2019, she has been paying substantial child support for 17 years. A source estimates that Spears has contributed over $5 million to support her sons.
With both sons now 18, it is expected that the payments will stop, marking a major financial change. Despite the end of the payments, reports suggest Britney won’t be spending Jayden’s birthday with him as he now lives in Hawaii with Federline and his new wife, Victoria Prince.
Federline previously mentioned that the boys had chosen not to see their mother, describing the situation as “tough.”
Spears responded to his comments, expressing her sadness and frustration over the relationship with her sons, especially when tied to her social media presence.
