The a cappella group Home Free delivers a stirring version of ‘God Bless The USA,’ collaborating with Lee Greenwood and The United States Air Force Band.
Originally released in 1984 by Lee Greenwood, ‘God Bless The USA’ was inspired by his desire to create a unifying patriotic anthem. After the tragic shooting down of Korean Air Lines Flight 007, Greenwood felt the timing was right for such a song.
Though it gained initial attention on the country charts, the song became a nationwide symbol of unity following the events of September 11th.
‘And I’m proud to be an American Where at least I know I’m free And I won’t forget the men who died Who gave that right to me’
Home Free, the American a cappella group that won the fourth season of The Sing-Off, consists of Austin Brown, Rob Lundquist, Adam Rupp, Tim Foust, and Adam Chance.
