Sean “P. Diddy” Combs has been denied bail after pleading not guilty to three felony charges. The music mogul was arrested on Monday, September 16, in a New York hotel, facing charges of sex trafficking, narcotics possession, and weapons offenses. According to the Southern District of New York, the charges stem from a racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force or fraud, and transportation for prostitution, with penalties ranging from 10 years to life in prison.

The indictment alleges that Combs abused, threatened, and coerced women since at least 2008, organizing drug-fueled sex parties, known as “Freak Offs,” and using violence and intimidation to maintain control. During these events, victims were reportedly given narcotics and subjected to sexual, physical, and emotional abuse. Raids on Combs’ properties in March revealed large quantities of baby oil, lubricant, and illegal firearms.

Despite offering a $50 million bail package with stringent conditions, his request was denied by US District Judge Andrew L. Carter, citing concerns about witness tampering and community safety. This comes on top of previous civil lawsuits accusing Combs of rape, sexual assault, and drugging, many of which are still ongoing.

Combs and his attorneys have denied the allegations, with his legal team arguing that the charges are part of an unjust prosecution. The investigation into his activities is still ongoing, and no trial date has been set. Prosecutors have stated that more witnesses may come forward, as they have already interviewed over 50 victims and witnesses.
