Sharon Stone is an acclaimed American actress, producer, and model, born and raised in California. She rose to fame in the 1990s, known for her portrayals of femme fatale characters in a series of iconic films. Her impressive acting skills have earned her widespread admiration and acclaim.
Stone initially started her career in modeling and made her film debut in Stardust Memories. She gained widespread recognition through roles in movies like King Solomon’s Mines, Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold, Total Recall, Basic Instinct, Last Action Hero, The Quick and the Dead, and Casino.
Her talent transcended her beauty, garnering critical praise and several honors. For her role as Ginger McKenna in Casino, she earned an Academy Award nomination and won a Golden Globe. Stone also received an Emmy Award for her guest role on The Practice. In 1995, she was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Despite her decades-long career, Stone remains one of the most sought-after actresses today, having appeared in recent series such as The New Pope, Ratched, and Murderville.
Despite her professional success, Stone faced many personal challenges. She has been married twice, first to television producer Michael Greenburg in 1984, with their divorce finalized in 1990. She then became engaged to producer William J. MacDonald, but they ended their relationship in 1994. Another engagement, this time to assistant director Bob Wagner, also ended before marriage. In 1998, Stone married journalist Phil Bronstein, but they divorced in 2004.
During her marriage to Bronstein, Stone faced heartbreak in her attempts to start a family. In a candid social media post, she revealed that she had endured nine miscarriages. She shared her pain, stating: “Losing all my children was not only a physical but an emotional burden. We’re often led to believe we must face this in isolation, feeling inadequate instead of receiving the compassion and healing we need.”
Stone’s fertility struggles were due to endometriosis, a condition that made it difficult for her to carry a child to full term. Despite her challenges, she remained determined to become a mother. In 2000, after enduring 36 hours of labor to deliver a stillborn baby, she received a life-changing call from an adoption attorney about a newborn boy. Six weeks later, Stone adopted her first son, Roan. Following her divorce from Bronstein, she adopted two more sons, Laird in 2005 and Quinn in 2006.
Reflecting on motherhood, Stone shared: “I am now a single mother to three adopted children, and raising them has been the greatest honor of my life. Adoption teaches you that any child can become your own, and it changes how you see the world forever.”
In December 2022, Stone opened her heart and home to another child under more difficult circumstances. She adopted the son of one of Roan’s childhood friends after his father, who had been battling Parkinson’s disease, passed away. Stone shared, “My eldest son’s best friend had a single father who suffered from Parkinson’s. My son took care of him for 12 years, and after his father passed away during Covid, the boy was left alone… I took him in. Now, I have four sons.”
According to a source quoted in the Daily Mail, the boy had been living with Stone in her Beverly Hills home for some time. “This happened about a year ago, and she’s kept it very private. The boy is very close to Roan, and the whole family now lives together as a unit.”
A close source added, “It’s a wonderful thing she’s done. She always knew she wanted to have a family, and this fulfills her dream. It’s great for Roan too, as they are the best of friends, and she loves having a large family around her.”
Although Stone refers to him as her “adopted son,” the source mentioned that it’s unclear whether the adoption has been legally formalized yet. Nonetheless, it speaks volumes about Stone’s commitment to providing a loving home.
