Beloved co-host of V-103’s morning show, Wanda Smith, passed away just one day after her birthday, leaving fans heartbroken and in disbelief. V-103 took to Instagram on October 13 to share a heartfelt tribute from the station’s Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Rick Caffey.
Caffey expressed deep sorrow, saying, “Our hearts are weighing heavier today as we grieve the loss of our beloved Wanda Smith, someone who always made us smile and was a big part of V-103 for years. We extend our deepest prayers and condolences to her family.” He also praised Smith’s joyful and impactful presence, which touched many lives in Atlanta.
Caffey reflected on Smith’s dedication to helping others, noting, “Many times she championed efforts behind the scenes to make a difference in the lives of those who were without.” Smith began her remarkable career at V-103 in 1997 and left a lasting legacy.
