Sarah Patricia Jones, known as Paddy, is a British salsa performer celebrated for her unique gymnastic salsa style. She gained significant recognition in 2009 when she and her dancing partner, Nico, won the Spanish talent competition Tú sí que vales. Later, in 2014, they competed in the eighth season of Britain’s Got Talent, where they finished in 10th place overall. Their impressive performances earned them the title of “the most established gymnastic salsa performers” in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Paddy and Nico auditioned for the ninth season of Britain’s Got Talent in 2014, with their audition airing on April 12. Judge Amanda Holden, impressed by their routine, used her Golden Buzzer, sending them straight through to the semi-finals. However, shortly after their audition, Paddy injured her rib while rehearsing for a new routine. This led to the couple temporarily leaving the competition, but after Paddy’s recovery and medical approval, they returned.
Despite the setback, they continued to perform and successfully reached the finals of the competition on May 31, 2014, finishing in 10th place overall. Later in 2015, they appeared on the German version of the talent show Das Supertalent, finishing in 10th place out of 12 finalists.
In 2019, Paddy and Nico participated in Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions, where they advanced to the final after receiving a strong endorsement from judge David Walliams. Unfortunately, they were eliminated in the final battle. The duo was then invited to compete in America’s Got Talent: The Champions in 2020, but they were eliminated before reaching the final. Despite these challenges, Paddy and Nico remain popular figures in the world of salsa dancing.
