I vividly recall the excitement of taking dance lessons as a child. After an unforgettable recital, I basked in the sense of achievement, confident that I had delivered an exceptional performance. However, what followed was a humbling realization. As our routine ended, attention turned to the “teachers showcase,” and I quickly recognized how much further I had to go in developing my dancing abilities.

Now, I’m thrilled to share an incredible video showcasing one of my favorite dance styles: boogie-woogie. This exciting performance took place at the “A Taste of Boogie 2.0” festival in Padova (Padua), Italy.

Boogie-woogie is a lively and dynamic dance style that originated in the U.S. during the 1920s. It has strong ties to African-American culture, especially in the Mississippi Delta, and draws inspiration from the rhythms of blues, jazz, and ragtime music.

In this video, you’ll see the remarkable skills of Agnieszka Cherubinska, Grzegorz Cherubinski, Tanya Georgievska, and Sondre Olsen Bye. These talented dancers, who are also renowned instructors, transport us to the vibrant 1950s with their stunning swing choreography, perfectly matched to the classic song “Deep Sea Ball” by Clyde McPhatter. Their performance is absolutely mesmerizing, and I’m sure you’ll be as enchanted as I was.
