In China, seven close friends turned a casual dream into reality by building a home where they could enjoy retirement together. They chose a peaceful location in the countryside near Guangzhou and invested approximately 4 million yuan (around $580,000 USD) to create a beautiful, nature-surrounded retreat.

Their custom-built home features expansive glass windows, spacious communal areas, private bedrooms for each friend, and a shared kitchen. One special highlight is a serene tea pavilion, designed as a place for gathering, sipping tea, and enjoying meaningful moments together.

What began as a lighthearted chat eventually became a well-thought-out plan. Pooling their savings, they collaborated with architects to bring their vision to life. Looking ahead, the friends also made practical arrangements for aging—promising to care for one another and, if needed, hire a cook and caregiver to support them.

Their goal wasn’t just to grow old—it was to do so surrounded by friendship, joy, and mutual support, proving that growing older doesn’t have to mean growing apart.
