After spending a long time alone, it can feel intimidating and unfamiliar to put yourself out there and meet new people. The key is to avoid rushing to judgment and to remain open to hearing others out. That brings me to a humorous story I recently came across—about a widow in her 70s who decided to find a new husband by placing an ad in the newspaper.

One day, while she was at home, her doorbell rang. She wasn’t expecting anyone and had no idea who might be there. The ad she had placed read: “Looking for a husband! Must be around my age, must not hit me, must be faithful, and must still be good in bed. Apply in person.”
The next day, the doorbell rang again. When she opened the door, she was stunned to see an elderly man in a wheelchair who had no arms or legs. “You’re not seriously applying, are you?” she asked in disbelief. “You don’t even have legs!”

With a smile, the man replied, “Exactly—I can’t run around on you.”
She scoffed, “And you don’t have arms either!”
