Sheinelle Jones Mourns Husband Uche Ojeh, Who Passed Away at 45 from Brain Cancer
Uche Ojeh, husband of Today show co-host Sheinelle Jones, has died at the age of 45 following a difficult battle with glioblastoma, an aggressive and incurable form of brain cancer.

The somber news was shared during Friday’s broadcast by Jones’ Today colleagues. Ojeh and Jones had been married for 17 years and shared three children together.
“With heavy hearts, we announce that Uche Ojeh, beloved husband of our dear friend Sheinelle Jones, has passed after bravely fighting glioblastoma,” co-host Savannah Guthrie said on air. “There are no words for the pain we feel for Sheinelle and her family.”
Guthrie described Ojeh as a remarkable man who was deeply cherished by all who knew him.
The couple’s love story began in the late 1990s at Northwestern University, where Jones was 19 and Ojeh was 17. They later wed in September 2007 in Jones’ hometown of Philadelphia. Ojeh, known for his love of soccer and a successful career in consulting, was most deeply guided by his faith and devotion to his family.
“He talked about those kids constantly,” fellow co-host Craig Melvin recalled. “He adored them. He was the dad on the sidelines at every soccer game, at every concert and recital. That was who he was.”
Jones shared the Today show’s tribute on Instagram, accompanied by a simple message: “Thank you, for all of your love and support.”
According to the Mayo Clinic, glioblastoma is an aggressive brain tumor with no known cure and often no clear cause.
