At 78 years old, Sir Elton John has faced numerous health issues in recent years, yet he’s remained upbeat throughout.
A newly surfaced video has sparked both concern and admiration from fans, many of whom took to social media to share their emotional reactions after seeing the music icon being assisted as he walked.

The footage, filmed in Italy, shows Elton being helped off a tour bus and carefully guided up a short set of stairs before sitting down with his group at an outdoor restaurant. The moment stirred a wave of online responses—some voiced worry, while others shared kind words and heartfelt prayers.
“Does he need a hip replacement?” one person asked, while another wondered, “Could it be severe arthritis? Poor guy.” A third commenter noted, “Can barely stand—is it gout?”

Despite the alarm, many fans remained supportive. One posted, “Praying he regains strength in his legs,” while another, clearly saddened, wrote, “So hard to see him need so much help getting around.”
Some were frustrated, suggesting he should be doing better given his resources. “With his means, a personal trainer could work wonders,” someone commented.

But others defended him, pointing to his age and past medical battles. “He’s survived prostate cancer, struggles with vision loss, has damaged knees and a replaced hip—and he’s almost 80. He’s doing his best,” one fan responded.
Earlier footage from June 28, 2024, shows Elton still performing at public events, like the Stonewall National Monument Visitor Center opening in New York.

However, his health has been a point of worry. In September 2024, Elton shared that he was suffering from a serious eye infection that left him with impaired vision in one eye. Although recovery was slow, he remained optimistic and expressed deep gratitude to his doctors and loved ones.
By November 2024, he revealed that vision in his right eye was nearly gone and his left eye was also deteriorating. This significantly affected his work, making it hard to read lyrics, see screens, or do studio sessions.

Still, Elton maintained a positive spirit and celebrated the release of his documentary Elton John: Never Too Late, a reflective piece on his life and legacy.
Among all his roles, he treasures fatherhood the most. He shares two sons—14-year-old Zachary Jackson and 12-year-old Elijah Joseph Daniel—with his husband, David Furnish. On March 2, 2025, the boys drew admiration during Elton’s Oscars charity event, stealing the spotlight on the red carpet.

Zachary and Elijah showcased a modern yet classy look—Elijah wore a traditional black suit with a crisp white shirt, while Zachary added flair with a black crew neck and gold chain. Both rocked trendy, tousled hairstyles.
Their dads also brought their signature style—Elton wore a blue shirt under a floral-embroidered blazer with his iconic tinted glasses, while David looked sharp in a black velvet tuxedo jacket adorned with a sparkling rocket pin.

The family not only posed together but also took the stage, with David announcing they had raised $8.7 million for the Elton John AIDS Foundation. The boys stood proudly beside him as the audience erupted in applause.
Social media lit up with praise: “They’re so handsome!” said one fan. Others marveled at how grown-up the boys looked and noticed how much they resemble their famous parents. “The older one is Elton’s double!” noted one Instagram user.

Held in West Hollywood Park, the event welcomed over 1,000 guests from entertainment, fashion, and activism, all united for a powerful cause—ending AIDS.
Singer Chappell Roan delivered an energetic performance, but the true heart of the night was its mission to raise life-saving funds for HIV prevention and treatment worldwide.

Outside of their charity work, Elton and David are devoted parents. In Never Too Late, Elton opened up about how his sons have started to express fears about his mortality, especially Zachary and Elijah.
“They love their daddy,” Elton said, “They want me to live forever. And I wish I could.” Though he acknowledges he might not be around to see them marry or have children, he emphasized how much he values their time together. “That’s why I try to make the most of every moment now.”

In a 2016 interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Elton joked that he never imagined being married to the love of his life and raising two children. “These boys are the best thing to ever happen to us,” he said.
He also shared how the kids enjoyed singing along to pop hits and even some of his classics—but added he would never push them into music, saying they were still “just little kids.”
The interview also touched on family vacations, Elton’s flamboyant wardrobe, and his then-new album. Ellen even gifted the boys mini pianos, adding to the sweetness of the moment.
From health battles to red carpet appearances, Elton’s story remains one of strength, love, and legacy—with his family by his side every step of the way.
