While serving overseas, a soldier received a heartbreaking “Dear John” letter from his girlfriend back home. It read:

“Dear Harry, I can’t go on with our relationship any longer. The distance is just too much. I must confess, I’ve been unfaithful twice since you left, and it wouldn’t be right to continue. Please send back the picture of me I gave you. Love, Kim.”

Crushed by the message, Harry turned to his fellow soldiers for help. He asked if they could spare any spare photos of their girlfriends, sisters, cousins, or exes. Soon, he gathered a stack of pictures of beautiful women.

When he mailed his reply to Kim, he included her photo—along with 43 others. His note said:

“Dear Kim, I’m sorry, but I can’t seem to remember which one you are. Please take your photo from the pile and send the rest back. Best, Harry.”
