Freddie Combs, the 49-year-old “X Factor” contestant, has passed away. Known for his powerful voice on the televised music competition, Combs gained a devoted following. His wife, Kay, shared that he died on September 10 at a hospital in Florida due to renal failure.

A preacher who performed on “X Factor” from a wheelchair, Freddie had long struggled with health challenges, including reaching a weight of 417 kg in 2009. By the time he appeared on the TLC series Ton of Love in 2010, he had lost a significant amount of weight, down to 245 kg. His run on “X Factor” ended relatively early in the competition.

Kay Combs expressed her gratitude for their 25 years together, describing Freddie as her best friend and devoted husband.
