A little Canadian town’s apparent lack of creative street names provided amusement for web users who came across the names there.

Which street are you on, man? That street, oh my! “This road?” “That street, not that!”

When visitors to Porters Lake, Nova Scotia, Canada, attempt to reach some addresses for the first time, there must be a great deal of confusion. A lack of creative street names in the small town led to names like “This Street,” “That Street,” and “The Other Street.”

The Porters Lake neighborhood is not unique, though, in having strange but amusing street names. The “Road to Nowhere,” which is located in the remote Nunavut town of Iqaluit, serves as an illustration.

Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, Stoner, Blow Me Down, Cow Head, Asbestos, Eyebrow, Dead Man’s Flats, and Saint-Louis-du-Ha! Ha! are just a few of Canada’s quirky town names.
