After having her 11th child, a girl, the first woman in the U.K. to have 10 boys in a row is no longer the only girl in her house.
Alexis Brett couldn’t believe she was having a girl when she found out she was pregnant.
Alexis and her husband David couldn’t wait until the baby was born to find out the gender. So, they drove 50 miles to a clinic where they could find out right away.
“I had thought we were going to have another boy. “My face was a picture when I found out it was a girl,” she told The Mirror newspaper.
The 39-year-old mom lives in the Scottish Highlands with her 44-year-old train driver husband, David. She said she was “over the moon” about her new baby boy, Cameron.
“I was stunned, but happy. “Now that she’s with us, it feels great,” she told the Mirror.
Cameron has ten brothers between the ages of 2 and 17 who will keep an eye on her.
“They’ve been much better behaved around her,” said dad David. “They’ve been trying to be quiet so they don’t wake her up.”
“They also want to help hold her and feed her, which is awesome.”
Does 49 loads of laundry per week
Alexis says she would have been happy if her 11th child had been a boy because all of her boys “are special” to her.
“A lot of people ask us if we had so many kids because we were looking for a girl. I can give you an honest “no.” “I didn’t plan to meet Cameron, but I was happy anyway,” she said.
Alexis hates mess, even though her boys are always running around the house. She does 49 loads of laundry a week and vacuums every day.
Alexis says, “We have to stop right now.” “It will be over. I said that before, but this time I mean it for sure. I like my family just the way it is.
“I never wanted a big family, but now that I have one, I love it.”
Alexis, who teaches fitness classes part-time, said it’s a lot of fun for her to buy pink things for the first time.
What do you think of the fact that you have so many boys? I can’t even think about all the work that has to be done every day.
