Employees at a restaurant sing “Amazing Grace” for a sick customer who doesn’t have that much time left on earth. This is a beautiful act of public kindness.
“Amazing grace, what a sweet sound, that saved a miserable person like me.
I used to be lost, but now I’m found, and I used to be blind, but now I can see.
Grace taught my heart to be afraid, and grace took away my fears.
How valuable that grace seemed to me the first time I believed.”
When an old man found out he was very sick and wouldn’t have much time left, he wanted to make sure he could have at least one last meal with his family at his favorite restaurant. The name of that restaurant was The Little Big Cup, and it was in the Louisiana town of Arnaudville.
When the restaurant staff heard what happened to the old man, they wanted to sing “Amazing Grace” to him while he waited for his food.
“I’m blown away,” the owner of a restaurant wrote on Facebook. “Mr. Chauvin is dying, and he wanted to eat one of his last meals at The Little Big Cup. Our employees and guests joined his family in honoring his wonderful life.”
When the workers sing, the room is full of such beautiful voices and harmonies. The old man and his wife start wiping their eyes, and she reaches across the table to hold his hand. What a moving and beautiful sight!
At the end of the video, the whole room cheers for the singers in the restaurant, and the man waves to the room to show his appreciation.
What a wonderful kind thing to do. I’m sure the old man and his family were blown away by the employees’ touching song and felt very special to be honored in that way.
