Katie Holmes is just as well-known for her long-term relationships as she is for her role as Joey Potter on “Dawson’s Creek.” But even though all of her attempts to find love failed, she gave love another chance and now has a new boyfriend.
When she met “The Flash” actor Chris Klein, Katie Holmes had her first real experience with true love. Even though we don’t know how they met, the teen heartthrob and the beautiful young actress started dating in the year 2000.
They got engaged in 2003, and they dated for another two years before breaking up in 2005. Even though their relationship didn’t work out, they stayed friends, even though Holmes moved on soon after.
Holmes started dating “Mission: Impossible” actor Tom Cruise in April 2005. This relationship sent the media into a tizzy. At the David di Donatello Awards in Rome, they first told people about their relationship.
Soon after, Cruise told Oprah that he loved the actress. A few months after they started dating, the “Top Gun” actor asked her to marry him on top of the Eiffel Tower.
They didn’t set a date for their wedding, though, and it wasn’t until a few months later that Holmes’ pregnancy was made public. There were a lot of rumors that her Catholic parents didn’t like Cruise because he was a different religion.
But Holmes is said to have taken Cruise’s religion soon after they started dating. They got married in a Scientology ceremony at the Odescalchi Castle in Bracciano, Italy, which was built in the 15th century. On the first anniversary of their first date, April 2006, they welcomed their daughter Suri, which means “princess” in Hebrew.
The couple stayed together for another six years, until Holmes “snuck up on” Cruise and told him they were getting a divorce in 2012. That was also the last time Cruise ever saw his son or daughter.
Samantha Domingo, who used to be a member of the Scientology Church, says that their sighting was just for show. In reality, Cruise is “not allowed” to date his teenage daughter, who is not a Scientologist, because she is not a Scientologist.
Us Weekly heard from another source that Cruise’s church did let its members see their children, but Cruise chose to stay away from his daughter.
After the strange events and the highly publicized divorce, Holmes stopped caring about anything but raising her daughter on her own.
Holmes had a one-night stand with “Annie” star Jamie Foxx in 2013. Their relationship was supposed to be a secret, so they met late at night in hotels and left through the back doors to avoid telling anyone.
But when they were seen holding hands, the secret was soon out. Even though it may have started out as a one-night stand, it turned into a serious relationship that lasted for six years.
Unfortunately, they broke up just a few weeks after their first big red carpet appearance at the Met Gala. There were rumors that Foxx had been unfaithful to the actress. A person heard Holmes say to a friend:
“What Jamie does is his business. We haven’t seen each other in months.”
Relationship with Emilio Vitolo Jr. that is serious but only for a short time.
Most people have a hard time finding love after a bad breakup, but “The Dark Knight” actress found love quickly with chef and restaurant owner Emilio Vitolo Jr.
In September 2020, a photo of them taking a walk in New York City made them known to the public for the first time. They seemed to be moving quickly, and after only two months, Holmes seemed to be completely in love.
“When they’re together, they always make each other laugh. Emilio and Katie always smile and look at each other lovingly, and Emilio’s friends like Katie a lot. They think she is a perfect match for him.” A source said.
She was treated like a princess by Vitolo Jr., and it was clear that they both felt the same way about each other. A source told Us Weekly about the relationship and how Holmes felt about it:
“She feels so lucky to be with a grounded, down-to-earth, kind-hearted partner who isn’t affected by fame and puts happiness and traditional values first.”
A source also said that when asked about Holmes, Vitolo Jr. would smile and blush when asked how he felt about him. When Vitolo Jr. introduced Holmes to his father, it seemed like they were in it for the long haul. A source told Us Weekly at the time:
“Emilio Sr. met Katie last week, and it seemed like they got along great. Katie made him laugh, and Emilio Sr. also seemed happy with Katie.
Unfortunately, their relationship, which seemed perfect, ended in less than a year. Sources say that the two decided that they would be better off as friends and that they wanted to give each other space. Even though they broke up, they still liked each other and stayed friends.
After she broke up with Vitolo Jr., the actress stopped dating for a while so she could focus on raising her daughter. And based on how they get along, it seems clear that she is doing a great job of it. According to someone who knows:
Holmes might have taken a break from dating, and when she met Wooten for the first time, she was nervous. She decided to give love a chance, though, and according to Hollywood life:
“But she agreed to go out with him on a date because they both liked her. One date led to two, which led to three. Now they are here.”
The Broadway bassist and the actress seem to be head over heels in love with each other. Holmes is said to be looking forward to the possibility of a “happily ever after,” even though the relationship is still fairly new.
The actress has already introduced Wooten to her mother, so they are in it for the long haul. During a walk through New York, where they held hands, Wooten also gave Holmes’ mom, Kathy, a hug.
Her short-lived, fast-paced relationship with Vitolo was similar to her relationship with Wooten, in that they both met each other’s parents. But, unlike her relationship with Vitolo, it seems like she and Wooten are just getting started on a long journey together.
Wooten seems like a nice guy, and Holmes’s daughter will be lucky to have him as a friend in the future. Holmes may have finally found “the one” after looking for decades, and we wish her the best.
