Puppets have always been a favorite in America. Just look at how well-known the Muppets have become over the years to see what I mean. Puppets seem to have a special place in our hearts. Maybe it’s because they can be funny or because they can be so human-like.
Darci Lynne Farmer is a young puppeteer, ventriloquist, and singer. In a video from the 2019 America’s Got Talent: The Champions competition, her “Edna” puppet has come to represent all of these things. This show shows not only Farmer’s talent, but also how happy and funny her puppet act makes people everywhere.
“America’s Got Talent: The Champions” came down to the last two winners of “America’s Got Talent”: Darci Lynne Farmer, a 14-year-old singer and ventriloquist from Oklahoma City, and Shin Lim, a close-up magic illusionist who won Season 13.
Lim’s mesmerizing close-up card trick won them over in the end, but Darci Lynne Farmer’s performance with her cute senior puppet, “Edna,” who has a crush on Simon Cowell, was one for the record books.
