Sam Elliott was 78 years old when he won a Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Award on February 26, 2023. This was a big deal for his career because he had already been nominated for a Golden Globe and an Academy Award. The star of “1883” and his wife of 39 years went to the awards show together.

Cleo Rose Elliott, Sam and Ross’s only child and daughter, shared on her Instagram Story how happy she was that her dad had won. She posted a picture of her parents holding hands at the awards show while Ross looked up at her husband with love in her eyes and wrote:
“Congrats, dad!”

Sam said in 2015 that he and his wife met on the set of “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid,” where they both had roles. But he said he didn’t have the courage to talk to her at the time because she was the main character in the movie.
He didn’t think he was good enough because he was just an extra in a bar scene. In 1978, they were both on an episode of “The Legacy.” This was the first time they talked to each other, and it was then that they realized they had a “common sensibility.”
