Shannen Doherty remains optimistic about leveraging science in her battle against cancer, yet she acknowledges the importance of preparing for the worst for the sake of her mother. On a recent episode of her podcast “Let’s Be Clear,” the “Beverly Hills, 90210” actress opened up about her decision to clear out her storage unit after realizing that her possessions were causing distress to her loved ones.
Doherty explained that she is prioritizing her mother Rosa’s well-being, especially considering the challenges she may face if Doherty loses her battle with stage 4 cancer. She expressed, “Because it’s going to be so hard on her, I want other things to be a lot easier. I don’t want her to have a bunch of things to deal with. I don’t want her to have four storage units filled with furniture.”
Shannen plans to sell the items in her storage unit, which includes a valuable collection of antiques, to fund a trip with her mother. However, she’s adamant about not dipping into her savings for these excursions, as she wants her family to be financially secure after she passes away.
It’s worth noting that Shannen first disclosed her battle with breast cancer in 2015, undergoing treatment and achieving remission. However, she revealed last year that the cancer had returned, now in Stage 4 and spreading to her bones.
Despite her health challenges, Shannen has maintained a positive outlook. In January, she expressed hope in a “miracle” new treatment.
