Isabella Strahan, daughter of Michael Strahan, shared a disappointing update on her battle against a brain tumor: her next round of chemotherapy has been postponed. In a candid video posted on YouTube, she opened up about her ongoing treatment and the recent setback that landed her back in the hospital.
Isabella explained that she had to return to the hospital due to a fever, which prompted the need for an intravenous line and scans. She described the experience as emotionally challenging, particularly since it had been a while since she last required such medical intervention, leading to tears over the IV line.
Unfortunately, the discomfort didn’t end there. Isabella also underwent a procedure to drain fluid, involving needles in three different locations, all while remaining conscious throughout the surgery. These additional therapies added to her physical and emotional strain during this difficult time.
Isabella underwent another craniotomy during her hospital stay, exactly one month after her previous procedure, causing her significant discomfort. She candidly expressed, “I’m not going to lie; I’ve been crying a lot. I’m experiencing a great deal of discomfort. It’s not quite as horrible as it was the previous time… Even though my face isn’t as bloated as it used to be, it aches to do anything at all.”
The discomfort made it challenging for Isabella to eat for several days, adding to her physical strain. Despite being discharged from the hospital after a week of treatment, she was readmitted a few days later due to difficulty breathing.
After feeling some relief from the treatments, Isabella received disheartening news: her next round of chemotherapy, which was supposed to be her second-to-last treatment, had been postponed for a month. She tearfully expressed her frustration, realizing how unpredictable and disruptive her illness could be.
Isabella’s disclosure of her diagnosis of medulloblastoma came during an appearance on “Good Morning America” alongside her father, Michael Strahan. Michael shares custody of Isabella and her twin sister, Sophia, with his ex-girlfriend, Jean Muggli.
