Following the charity single, X-Factor celebrity judge Simon Cowell openly wept on live television. His emotional display startled the audience.
The 60-year-old business magnate Simon Cowell was visibly moved by the charity single. Dermot O’Leary, the show’s host, addressed him, saying, “Simon, I know how much you value both of these organizations.
Would you like to share your thoughts?” Simon, overcome with emotion, began to cry, covering his face with his hands, and managed to say, “Oh God.”
Lauren Silverman, Simon’s fiancée, rushed onto the stage and enveloped him in her arms for comfort. Simon’s co-star Nicole Scherzinger also tried to console him, while Louis Walsh looked on in surprise.
“There’s nothing more to say, Simon,” Dermot quickly intervened, directing the cameras to turn away from the emotional moment.
During the charity song, which aimed to support children’s hospices, many fans were moved to the brink of tears. The song will financially benefit both Together For Short Lives and Shooting Star, organizations that provide palliative care to infant and child patients not expected to live long. Together for Short Lives also offers support and resources to families facing the imminent loss of a child due to an incurable illness.
Simon Cowell has been a patron of Together for Short Lives since 2009, when it was known as Children’s Hospices UK before merging with ACT in 2011. Throughout his life, he has been actively involved in philanthropic endeavors, particularly those aimed at helping children and animals.
