Jennifer Lopez is proving that her summer wardrobe is in top shape—literally!
On Saturday, July 13, the singer and actress was spotted shopping in the Hamptons with her stepdaughter, Violet Affleck, while carrying a Hermès Kelly picnic bag made of straw and brown leather.
A TikTok user captured a video of Lopez, 55, leaving a store with the bag on her arm, noting that a pre-owned version costs $70,000. The video quickly went viral, amassing 1.2 million views and sparking comments about the bag’s exorbitant price.
“Wearing my annual salary,” one person commented. Another said, “You can find that purse in Fiji for $5 on the street.”
“Omg, the price is ridiculous; the purse is just a strip of leather, and the basket is some dried corn husk in a braid 🤦🏽♀️😆,” added another.
While some criticized the bag’s cost, others defended Lopez’s right to spend her money as she pleases.
“How on earth is she still so darn beautiful? Wow. And $70,000 is peanuts to her. She earned her money.” One user commented, “And that bag is fire.”
“It’s her money,” someone said. “If I had the money, I’d buy it too 🥹😅,” read another remark.
“She can buy whatever she damn wants, too,” someone else added. “JLo is gorgeous, no matter what anyone says.”
This isn’t the first time one of Lopez’s Hermès bags has attracted attention.
When Lopez returned to Manhattan on Friday, July 26, after celebrating her 55th birthday in the Hamptons, she swapped her luggage for a $20,000 cream-colored Hermès Birkin Crocodile bag.
She accessorized the bag with a fitted blue blazer over a classic white shirt, an effortless bun, and a glossy pout.
In addition to her high-end bags, the star showcased her $76 Charles & Keith Mini Crescent Hobo Bag on Mother’s Day, paired with a purple floral off-the-shoulder midi dress and shoes.
