Elle King recently made an appearance on the ‘Dumb Blonde’ podcast, where she shared some little-known details about her childhood and her relationship with Rob Schneider.

The “Ex’s & Oh’s” singer expressed her strong disagreement with her father’s views on the LGBTQ community. She said, “I disagree with a lot of the things that he says. You’re talking out of your ass and you’re talking shit about drag and, you know, anti-gay rights. And it’s like, get fucked.”

In late July, Schneider took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to voice his disapproval of the Olympics opening ceremony, which he believed to be a reinterpretation of Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper” featuring drag queens and other colorfully dressed individuals.

Schneider wrote, “I am sorry to say to all the world’s greatest athletes, I wish you all the best, but I cannot watch an Olympics that disrespects Christianity and openly celebrates Satan.” He added, “I sincerely hope these Olympics get the same amount of viewers as CSPAN.”

In another post, he stated, “Guys with their genitalia hanging out in front of children?! Drag Queens?! I wasn’t sure if I was watching the Olympics or a school board meeting.”

In promo videos for the podcast shared on TikTok, King mentioned that she didn’t connect with her father until she was “much, much older.” She mainly saw him on set during his work, where she often felt “lost in the shuffle.”

King shared that a significant source of tension between them was her appearance, particularly her weight and tattoos. She recalled, “I was a really, really heavy child. My dad sent me to fat camp… and I got in trouble one year because I sprained my ankle and didn’t lose any weight. I had already started getting tattoos, and it was 108 degrees, so I had to wear sweaters because my dad was very anti-tattoos or any form of self-expression.”

So far, Schneider and his team have declined to comment.

Now, King says she has no relationship with her father and “doesn’t want to be associated” with him in any way.

“He’s just not nice,” King said. “You can want someone to change so much, but you can’t control anyone else’s actions or feelings. All you can control is how you react and what you do with your feelings.”
