Simon Cowell is undoubtedly one of the most recognizable figures in the music industry, amassing millions thanks to his keen business sense and talent. On a personal level, Simon is known for his charitable work and his love of animals. Since 2013, he has been in a relationship with Lauren Silverman, with whom he shares a son, Eric, born in 2014. Their relationship initially caused a media stir, as it was reported that they started dating while Lauren was still married to Simon’s close friend, Andrew Silverman.
Becoming a father later in life has been a transformative experience for Cowell. He described meeting Lauren and the birth of his son as “the most fantastic thing” that ever happened to him. Though he’s built a $600 million fortune, Cowell doesn’t plan to leave it to Eric. Instead, he believes his son should earn his own wealth, explaining that he plans to donate his money to charity, particularly causes that support children and animals.
Despite this, Simon and Eric share a close bond, with Cowell often speaking about how much he enjoys spending time with his son. They have a shared love of Scooby-Doo and Disney movies, and Simon describes Eric as “the most amazing thing” to ever happen to him. Eric is named after Simon’s father, Eric Selig Phillip Cowell, who passed away in 1999.
