When Klára Gibišová begins to play the piano, it’s undeniable that music is deeply ingrained in her soul. By the age of nine, she was already an accomplished pianist, recognized with numerous awards and performing alongside respected orchestras.
Her talent has graced prestigious stages, including an unforgettable performance at St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague. While the audience’s applause brings her joy, Klára values her teacher’s feedback the most.
“I wait to hear from my teacher if it was good because sometimes I can’t quite tell,” she shares.
Klára’s musical journey began at just three years old when she started picking out melodies by ear without reading sheet music. “I remember playing The Cat Climbing Through the Hole with just one finger,” she recalls fondly.
By the age of five, she was performing in concerts, needing help to reach the piano bench but captivating audiences with her heartfelt playing.
Formal lessons started when she was seven, and her early learning method involved listening to recorded lessons. “We used to record the sessions so I could practice at home. It’s only recently that I’ve started reading music,” she explains.
What keeps her passion alive is the excitement of discovering new pieces. “Most of the time, my teacher picks the pieces, but sometimes I get to choose. I especially love the fast ones,” Klára says with a smile.
