The Ruby Red Performers, a group of 12 women aged 25 to 64 from the small village of Withernsea, brought a memorable and unique act to Britain’s Got Talent.

Their audition began with them dressed as washerwomen, performing a modest intro dance that quickly triggered Simon Cowell’s buzzer. However, the women then shocked everyone by revealing silk nightgowns and launching into a sultry routine.

Dancing to “I Like the Way You Move” by BodyRockers, the performers shed layers until they finished with a bold finale, wearing British flag tassels and undergarments. The audience, initially quiet, erupted in cheers as the tempo increased.

The audition quickly went viral, earning 16.7 million views on YouTube, becoming one of the show’s most popular dance acts. Viewers praised their energy, confidence, and infectious joy, with many sharing how it brightened their day.

In the semi-finals, the Ruby Red Performers returned with a new routine. Despite Simon Cowell admitting he “pressed [his] button a little early,” David Walliams described their act as “brilliantly original and really entertaining,” while Alesha Dixon commented, “Ladies, that made my day… you’re empowering women.”

The group secured four “yes” votes, advancing to the next round.
