After texting her mom about feeling anxious, a college student went viral on TikTok when she shared a heartwarming video of her family traveling 600 miles to surprise her.
Breanna Lambert, a student at Kansas State University, sent her mother a message just before 3 p.m., asking if she was available to talk.
“Please call me when you have some free time,” she wrote. Her mother quickly responded, “Yes. Is everything alright?”
Lambert replied, “Yeah, I’m just feeling anxious and wanted to talk.”
Little did she know, her parents were already on their way. Just over an hour later, while she was at the gym, they walked in to surprise her—capturing the emotional moment on video.
Lambert later posted the footage on TikTok, explaining that her parents had driven from their home in southern Wisconsin all the way to Manhattan, Kansas. Speaking with PEOPLE, she credited the surprise to “mother’s intuition.”
In the video, Lambert is seen working out on a treadmill before suddenly spotting her parents. Overcome with emotion, she immediately starts crying and rushes to hug them.
“My relationship with my parents is amazing,” Lambert told PEOPLE. “My mom is one of my closest friends, and our bond has only grown stronger since I’ve been away at college.”
She also shares a deep connection with her father, calling him “the silent servant”—always present, even if he isn’t the most vocal.
While some might be shocked by their 600-mile journey, Lambert wasn’t surprised at all.
“My parents have always set this example,” she said. “They’ve never hesitated to show up when I or my siblings needed them. It’s a true gift.”
Lambert acknowledges that not everyone experiences this level of parental love, and she hopes her video inspires future parents.
“Knowing I have their unwavering support gives me so much comfort and stability in life,” she said. “I hope this reminds parents to always be there for their kids—it makes all the difference.”
