During his musical tribute to Saturday Night Live, Adam Sandler became visibly emotional. The actor, who had been a cast member on the sketch comedy show from 1990 to 1995, performed a special song to celebrate the program’s 50th anniversary.

Introduced by Jack Nicholson at the Saturday Night Live 50: The Anniversary Special in New York City, Sandler’s acoustic performance titled “50 Years” humorously reflected on the show’s highs and lows while expressing deep gratitude for the cast and the cultural impact SNL has had over the years.

He began his performance by joking, “Everybody in this room has something in common… all of our lives were changed by the show. Everybody in this room has something else in common: None of us were allowed to use the little bathroom in Lorne [Michael]’s office.”

The evening also saw Sandler appearing at the SNL50: The Homecoming Concert on February 14, where he was joined by former SNL cast members and other celebrities. Prior to the event, Sandler and his wife, Jackie, shared a tender kiss on the red carpet, showcasing their affection.

The heartfelt performance and the touching moments from the anniversary celebration truly highlighted the significance of Sandler’s connection to SNL and the lasting impact the show has had on its cast and audience.
