Demi Moore Shares Emotional Update on Bruce Willis Amid His Dementia Battle
Demi Moore has provided a heartfelt update on her ex-husband, Bruce Willis, as he continues to navigate life with frontotemporal dementia.
Willis, 69, was initially diagnosed with aphasia in March 2022, prompting his retirement from acting. Nearly a year later, in February 2023, his family revealed his condition had progressed to frontotemporal dementia.
Moore, 62, who was married to the Die Hard star from 1989 to 2000, remains deeply involved in his life. The former couple shares three daughters—Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 31. In a recent interview with Variety, Moore reaffirmed her unwavering support for Willis, saying, “We will always be a family, just in a different form. For me, there was never a question. I show up because that’s what you do for the people you love.”
In addition to supporting her daughters, Moore also maintains a close relationship with Willis’s current wife, Emma Heming, 46, and their two daughters, Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 10.
The G.I. Jane actress hopes their blended family’s approach serves as inspiration for others. “I hope it’s encouraging for others to see that there’s a different way to do things,” she shared. “There is life after divorce. There is a way to co-parent with love.”
Moore echoed these sentiments in a December interview with CNN, emphasizing that her commitment to their family never wavered after their divorce. “We’ll always be a family, just in a different form. And that form may evolve and change, but there is a way we can all be in that form together.”
Providing a health update, Moore noted, “Given the givens, he’s in a very stable place at the moment.” She also stressed the importance of meeting Willis where he is in his journey. “It’s so important for anybody who’s dealing with this to really meet them where they’re at. And from that place, there is such love and joy.”
Moore’s words reflect the enduring bond between her and Willis, showcasing the power of love, family, and unwavering support in the face of life’s challenges.
