Michelle Trachtenberg, the actress best known for her roles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gossip Girl, has passed away at the age of 39.
She was discovered unresponsive in her New York City apartment near Columbus Circle on the morning of February 26, 2025. Authorities have stated that there is no suspicion of foul play, and an autopsy will be conducted to determine the official cause of death.
Trachtenberg began acting at a young age, gaining recognition in Harriet the Spy before landing her breakout role as Dawn Summers in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She also portrayed the cunning Georgina Sparks in Gossip Girl and took on various roles in film and television.
In recent months, the actress had undergone a liver transplant and was reportedly experiencing complications from the procedure. While the exact cause of her passing has yet to be confirmed, sources suggest her health struggles may have played a role.
