The video opens with a man and a young boy on a trip to Home Depot, joined by filmmaker Anita Mander. Their mission? To pick up some paint for a new project. For most people, choosing a paint color can be a stressful task—with what feels like an overwhelming number of choices. In fact, there are more than 150,000 shades of white alone!
But for little Brock, all those decisions aren’t overwhelming at all—they’re magical. He’s completely captivated by the endless array of colors. In the video, Brock hands a paint sample card to the woman behind the camera while holding another one in his small hand. “What about this one?” the man carrying him asks. Brock’s eyes light up—he’s just discovered a new shade to admire.
Completely fascinated, Brock examines both cards, then decides to pass the first one along in favor of the new find. Moments later, he spots yet another color and is instantly enchanted. The man with him laughs, noting that Brock is “shaking so much” from pure excitement. All the while, the little boy remains mesmerized by the colorful wall in front of him.
With such a genuine love for color, we can’t help but hope Brock keeps this passion alive as he grows. Maybe one day, he’ll turn it into a career. After all, when you love what you do, it doesn’t feel like work. And if Brock holds on to this joyful spark, he may never work a day in his life.
