Infidelity is never easy to forgive—especially when it happens during one of the most vulnerable times in a person’s life. One woman revealed on Reddit that her husband betrayed her shortly after she gave birth, and now she has devised a cold, calculated plan for revenge.
She explained: “I discovered text messages between my husband and another woman on our shared iPad. That’s when I learned his affair started while I was still recovering postpartum. My heart shattered into pieces. I loved him so deeply, and I couldn’t understand how he could do this to me.”
At first, she couldn’t resist digging deeper. “I read every message between them. He seemed so alive with her, so cheerful. She was single, child-free, and able to make him her priority. Meanwhile, I was exhausted, healing, and caring for our newborn. I didn’t have the energy to give him the same attention I once did—and he went looking for it elsewhere.”
Instead of confronting him immediately, she chose another path. “I kept reading their messages in secret, then I began reshaping myself into everything he said he wanted. At first, he was confused, but I persisted. Whenever he made plans with her, I found ways to interfere or keep him home. Slowly, their conversations fizzled. She grew frustrated, while he began focusing on me again—sending sweet texts, saying he missed me, and acting like the man I fell in love with.”
Eventually, her plan worked. “He broke it off with her, telling her he still loved me. He no longer needed her. That’s when I set my second plan in motion.”
Behind the scenes, she had been preparing for a new life. “I found an apartment for me and my baby, secured my finances, and made arrangements for custody. On the day I move out, he’ll be served with divorce papers. He won’t see it coming.”
While she expects criticism, she stands by her decision. “Some people will say I pushed him into another woman’s arms. But I didn’t ignore him out of malice—I was simply adjusting to motherhood, learning to accept my new body, and embracing the joy of our baby. He could have come to me, talked to me, helped me understand his struggles. Instead, he chose betrayal. He destroyed our love and our future.”
