We rented a house that came with a basement flat. The woman living downstairs mostly kept to herself, so we rarely interacted. Our rental included a detached garage, and she asked if she could keep a small deep freezer in there.
We agreed since we were only using the garage for storage. A few weeks later, her freezer somehow became unplugged, and she demanded that we pay to replace it. While I understood why she was upset, we almost never went into the garage and definitely weren’t the ones who disconnected it.
Our landlord sided with us, but she was furious anyway.
