A Late-Night Grocery Run That Nearly Ended in Horror

It was around two in the morning when I decided to go food shopping. The store was nearly empty—just me, the cashier, and one other man standing near the register. He wasn’t buying anything, just watching. The unsettling part? He never broke eye contact.

I hurried through my purchase, paid, and left as quickly as I could. But as I made my way home, I heard footsteps behind me. When I turned around—there he was. The same man from the store.

“Why so fast, miss?” he called out. My heart started pounding, and I walked even faster. He stayed right behind me. Then, suddenly, I heard someone shout.

It was the cashier. He had followed us out and grabbed the man’s arm, stopping him in his tracks. The moment the man realized he’d been caught, he tore free and ran into the night.

The cashier made sure I was safe before telling me something that still chills me to this day—this same man had followed and robbed another woman not long ago. He recognized him the moment he walked into the store and knew he had to act fast.

That night taught me a lesson I’ll never forget: never go out alone late at night, not even for something as simple as a quick grocery trip.
