My girlfriend and I were on a flight, but we couldn’t get seats together, so she ended up sitting right behind me. Wanting to be sweet, I decided to surprise her by reaching my hand behind my seat and resting it gently on what I thought was her knee. Feeling a little playful, I slowly moved my hand up her thigh, expecting her to giggle or say something.
But then I heard laughter from behind me — and it wasn’t just her voice.
Puzzled, I turned around to see what was happening, and that’s when my stomach dropped. My hand wasn’t on my girlfriend’s leg at all — it was on the leg of the man sitting next to her! He looked at me, clearly amused, and said with a grin, “I just wanted to see how far you’d take it.”
My girlfriend burst into laughter, and soon the whole row of passengers joined in. I was completely mortified — they’d all been watching the prank unfold!
