It hasn’t been long since Mom and Dad brought home the newest member of the family.
Even though they were worried that their first child would be jealous of their new baby, he couldn’t be happier to spend time with his little sister. From the moment his parents put his teenage sister on his lap, he was fascinated by her.
But when they recently turned a corner and saw her singing “You’re So Beautiful,” they knew they had nothing to worry about.
Most people think “You Are So Beautiful” is just another love song, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. The song was written by Billy Preston and Bruce Fisher to honor Preston’s mother.
She was the one who made Preston’s life what it was. So Preston was very angry when he found out that one of his musician friends was using the song to yell at young women at his concerts.
He called his artist friend and scolded him for using a once-beautiful song about his mother as a way to get girls. After the dust settled, Joe Cocker released a slower version of the song by Preston and Fisher later that same year. This is the version that everyone knows. It has become one of the most well-known songs ever.
The song is always played at home by mom and dad because it has such beautiful lyrics and music. Brother had heard this song so many times that he finally learned the words and decided to sing it to his sweet sister.
