There’s nothing more embarrassing for a teen than having to hang out with their parents.
When we were out in public, I used to walk a few steps behind my parents as if there was something wrong with them.
So, when a dad in Texas found out that his 17-year-old son was acting up at school, he thought about the worst punishment he could give.
He thought about taking away his cell phone or putting him in time out, but then he had a great idea that parents all over the world are praising him for.
The teacher had told Brad’s parents more than once that he talked too much in class when he was a teenager.
So, his talkative dad Bradley decided to give his son a choice.
“For some reason, I said, ‘Hey, if we get another call, I’ll show up at school and sit next to you in class,'” Dad Brad told Buzzfeed.
His son didn’t think he was serious, so he kept upsetting the teacher and the other students in his physics class.
But when Dad Brad got another call about his son’s bad behavior, he knew he had to keep his promise.
“I barely noticed him.”
Brad didn’t want to do it, but he had to in order to get his son to behave.
“Friday is the only day I don’t have to work, so my wife wakes me up and tells me, “Brad, it’s time to go to school.” “Oh no, what have I done?” I thought. the dad said.
The next day, Brad went to his physics class as usual, but when he got there, he was shocked to see his dad waiting for him by his desk.
The teen told Buzzfeed, “I didn’t even notice him until after I had said hi to all of my friends. I was very shocked.”
The other teens in the classroom enjoyed seeing Brad struggle with his dad sitting next to him, and they laughed at his expense.
Mollie, Brad’s sister, also laughed a lot when her dad showed up in Brad’s class. She posted about it on social media.
“My dad told my brother that if the physics teacher called him again to complain, he would go sit in his class,” Molli writes on Twitter. “Dad got another call.”
Even Denise Howard, a mother, wrote about what her husband was doing.
“The Howards are well-known,” Bradley’s mom said. “We’ve had a lot of fun with this, but we hope more than anything that Bradley doesn’t keep talking in physics class!”
My dad told my brother that if the physics teacher called him again to complain, he would go sit in his class.
Like his wife, Brad senior hopes this is an isolated incident because he wasn’t ready to go to high school.
Dad told me that the physics teacher was thankful, but he also said, “I hope it was just a one-time thing.” “I don’t think I’d do it again,” he said.
When my son “couldn’t remember” to turn in his homework, I did the same thing. After I sat next to him in a few classes for a few days, his memory got a lot better…
It’s great when parents do what they say they will do. It’s very important to be consistent and teach your teen to respect teachers.
