Dogs have instincts that are so smart. Often, they can find things that their owners can’t, which is a skill that can mean the difference between life and death.

Recently, this happened when a smart Husky was the only one who saw a baby left alone in a park and helped get him to safety.

Birmingham Live says that Terry Walsh, who is 64 years old, was walking his Husky, Hel, in The Mounds in Birmingham.

The two walked by a rolled-up blanket on the ground near some bushes. Terry thought it was just a piece of trash that someone had thrown away. Hel, on the other hand, ran over to find out more.

Terry told Birmingham Live, “She went over to the blanket, laid down next to it, and started gently nudging it with her nose.”

He was shocked when he heard the sound of a baby crying coming from the thrown-away blanket.

Terry realized that the baby boy had been left there alone, exposed to the weather, and that his dog was the only one who had found him.

“I think Hel’s gentle pushing and my Husky’s body heat are what woke up the baby,” he said.

He was glad the dog had found him first because rats or foxes could have been a real threat to the baby.

Police later said that the baby was only “hours old.”

Even though Hel kept the baby safe, the police still don’t know who the boy’s mother is.

He was taken to the hospital and given the name “George” because he was found around St. George’s Day. No one knows where he came from, though. West Midlands Police have asked the boy’s mother to get in touch with them right away.

West Midlands Police wrote on Facebook, “Baby George is healthy and doing well.” “But unfortunately, we still can’t find his mother. We’re worried about her and want to make sure she’s okay physically and mentally.

“Right now, this is our only worry. Giving birth is a big deal, and we’re worried that she will need medical help. We want her to know that she doesn’t have to worry about anything. We’re ready to give her the help and support she needs, and she can get in touch with us without telling anyone.”

How sad! We hope everything turns out well for this poor baby who got lost. But we’re glad he’s safe and sound now because a smart Husky acted quickly.
