With all the love Oprah Winfrey has received over the years, it was only a matter of time before the hate would find its way to her.
But who would go after someone who is so popular, well-known, and involved in social justice? Well, there is one person who has been pointing fingers at famous people for years.
And it was actress Rose McGowan who decided to tell one of the most famous people of this century about all the criticism. McGowen’s popular tweet points out that Oprah worked with Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, who is now in jail.
McGowen has said that Weinstein used his power to act in a way that was wrong during her career. And she won’t let any famous person get away with being criticized for being helped by Weinstein’s actions. In short, McGowen’s tweet seems to say that she is glad that people are learning about what Oprah did in the past.
McGowen says that Oprah can’t even be in a documentary that would help the Me Too Movement. Instead, she should quit the project, McGowen says. McGowen even says that Oprah is a “lizard.”
The shocking post got a lot of attention and got people talking about what they thought or agreed with. It was, to say the least, a brave and shocking move.
from McGowen thinking about Oprah hasn’t been in the news for a long time. Oprah’s last post was more than a year ago, when she talked about leaving her role as executive producer on Russel Simmons’s #MeToo documentary. Oprah said that she and the other women and Simon had different ideas about how to make the movie, so she could no longer be a part of it. She wishes the other women and Simon the best of luck.
Someone who says they are part of the “Me Too” movement should not act this way. However,
Oprah can’t get away from her past and the people she has met over the years. McGowen won’t let her or the public forget that Oprah was Weinstein’s best friend, coworker, and supporter.
The movie The Butler came out in 2013 and starred Oprah. It was made by Weinstein and his company. In 2017, he was accused of things. But Oprah still says she doesn’t know anything about the accusations against Weinstein, and she still says that today.
Oprah has said that many women have important allegations that should be made public, and most of them don’t have to do with Weinstein.
Even though Oprah used to be friends with Weinstein, she doesn’t think that all the attention should be on him. She thinks that there are a lot of other people who need to be punished, and that if we only focus on Weinstein, the other people will be forgotten. Weinstein is serving 23 years in prison for his crimes, which is a good thing.
Rose McGowen is still fighting for social justice and is currently covering the election of Gavin Newsome.
She is so involved in this recall election that Newseom’s wife contacted her privately and asked the actress to stop talking about Newsome altogether. Knowing McGowen’s honesty, we will see if she stays quiet during this time or if she keeps saying what she thinks.
