For a toddler who is two and a half years old, a month can feel like a significant amount of time to be away from her father.
It’s nearly a quarter of her life, which makes it understandable that Adalynn’s mother, Alison Durbin, wanted to arrange a special reunion for her daughter and her husband, retired aviator Ron Durbin. As Ron’s eagerly anticipated flight touched down at Raarid City Regional Airport in South Dakota, Alison held up a sign for Adalynn that read, “I’m here to pick up my dad.”
Yet, for some reason, I still can’t read. Everyone else in the airport seemed to understand exactly what was unfolding, except for me, the young girl, who was in for the surprise of her life.
Adalynn dropped the sign and dashed into Ron’s arms as he stepped off the runway, embracing his wife and daughter. The heartwarming and charming reunion between father and daughter has already garnered over 3 million views on Facebook. After just a few seconds, it’s evident why.
